When is a BER Certificate required?

  • When you are selling your house
  • When you are renting your house
  • If you are applying for an SEAI grant to insulate your house

Even if none of the above, a BER Certificate still gives you a valuable insight into the energy performance of your house. A BER Certificate is valid for a period of 10 years.

If you are building your own house you can get a Provisional BER Certificate based on your plans. A final Certificate can be issued when the house has been completed.

I offer competitively priced assessments with confidentiality assured.

The initial part of the assessment requires a site visit to your house which takes about 1½ hours. This can be arranged for a date and time to suit you.

When the assessment is complete, typically within a few days of the site visit, you will be issued with a BER Certificate (BER Rating for your house) together with an Advisory Report on possible energy performance improvements.
